Our fantastic leaders are at the heart of the CRU Camp experience. Over 800 young volunteer leaders give a week of their time to lead on CRU Camps each year. These leaders put caring for your child first, so you can rest assured that they are in good hands.

Each camp team is managed and led by a director who is the first point of contact for each specific camp. Many of our CRU Camp leaders were once campers themselves, so they’re highly qualified to relate to the campers they’re leading! Furthermore, primary camps have a ‘camp mum and dad’ to comfort young campers who may experience homesickness, and to ensure they settle in to camp quickly and have a fantastic week.

Our leaders are all trained in child protection procedures, fully reference checked and screened under government child protection legislation. Each camp team has at least 2 First Aid Officers who can offer immediate medical assistance if required. Our leaders are excellent young role models and each camp features a leader to camper ratio of just 1:5. This ensures an exceptional level of care and nurture for each camper, a high level of safety & supervision and a close community feel on each camp.
