SPECIAL DIETS POLICY

Crusaders' CRU Camps is able to offer catering for the following special diets:

 DIET

 DESCRIPTION OF DIET

 CAMPER NEEDS TO PROVIDE

 VEGETARIAN  No meat, no fish, no fish or oyster
 sauces. Alternative protein foods will
 be provided.
 
 VEGAN  No animal products (including meat,
 fish, egg, dairy or honey). Alternative
 protein foods will be provided.
 
 COELIAC
 (gluten-free)
 No gluten-containing grains (wheat,
 rye, oats or barley) or their products
 or extracts (such as thickeners or
 malt extract). Alternative carbohydrate
 sources will be provided.
 
 WHEAT-FREE  No wheat, wheat products or wheat
 extracts (such as thickeners).
 Alternative carbohydrate sources
 will be provided.
 
 LACTOSE INTOLERANT
 No milk, milk products or milk extracts.
 Soy milk is provided.
 Own milk if soy milk is not acceptable.
 GLUTEN-FREE &
 LACTOSE INTOLERANT
 This diet combines the restrictions of
 the gluten-free diet and lactose
 intolerant diet above. Soy milk is
 provided.
 Own milk if soy milk is not acceptable.
 WHEAT-FREE &
 LACTOSE INTOLERANT
 This diet combines the restrictions of
 the wheat-free diet and lactose
 intolerant diet above. Soy milk is
 provided.
 Own milk if soy milk is not acceptable.
 NUT ALLERGY
 No whole nuts and nut pieces.
 However, being a commercial kitchen,
 we cannot provide food that is free of
 traces of nuts.
 Being a commercial kitchen, we
 cannot provide food that is free
 of traces of nuts. A camper with
 a severe or life-threatening allergy
 to nuts must provide their own food
 for reheating.

GENERAL NOTES: Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements outside of those listed above. However, campers with special diets outside these provisions are welcome to bring their own food for reheating.

  • If you are aware of commonly used pre-processed sauces or foods that your child is allergic to, please contact CRU Camps on 9874 8933, option 1 to discuss this further.
  • Three main meals are provided daily to suit the above diets. Fruit is the only snack provided for special diets. Some campers may like to bring some additional snacks. (Please do not bring nut products!)
  • The Camp Co-ordinator must notify caterers of diet requirements at fourteen (14) days prior to camp. Please ensure that CRU Camps is notified of your child's requirements prior to this date, on 9874 8933, option 1.

Anaplyactic Nut Allergies: Crusaders generally provides a diet free of whole nuts and nut pieces. However, being a commercial kitchen, we cannot provide food that is free of traces of nuts. Therefore, a camper with a severe or life threatening allergy to nuts must provide their own food for reheating.
