ONLINE POLICY

Many youth organisations are making use of Online Forums & Social Networking Applications (eg. Facebook & Myspace) for members to communicate with one another. Crusaders recognises that online forums & social networking sites can be a powerful way of retaining community post-camp and providing an environment in which campers can stay in touch with leaders and each other, ask questions and grow in their faith. Crusaders is committed to utilising this new medium to positively impact both campers' and leaders' lives. To make these forums as safe a place for kids to interact as possible, Crusaders has set in place high security settings and procedures to minimise misuse.

1.   Each camp specific group that is set up will be administered/moderated by one chosen leader from that camp.

2.   The administrator will screen all postings and only appropriate communications which are approved by the administrator will be published (ie. made visible to group members).

3.    Only campers and leaders who attended that specific camp will be able to join the group*.

4.    The administrator can remove published/public postings at any time.

5.    The administrator has the power to remove campers from membership of the group if necessary.

6.    All postings by campers and leaders will be viewable only by group members (not the public).

7.    The group will be closed at the end of 12 months.

Crusaders will inform camper parents of the existence of these online forums through the 'Camper Info Letter' which is distributed prior to camp.
Disclaimers
